Night Eyes

Cade and his cousins, Julia and Lauren, got to do a trial run of trick-or-treating when we went to "Night Eyes" at the zoo. Not too many animals were out, but we did get lots of candy from the local vendors that helped sponsor the event (even the adults!) : )

Happy Halloween!

Tonight was Beggar's Night in Waukee...Cade loved the trick-or-treating and has turned into a little candy fiend. We finally had to cut him off. He didn't tell any jokes, but did say "Trick or Treat" and "Thank You" if prompted. I think he's going to be pretty disappointed that this only happens once a year!

When Cade was asked what he was going to be for Halloween, he would usually say, "a horsey."

Thanks for letting us borrow your "real" cowboy boots, Eli!

Adventureland

Again this post is overdue, but back in August, Cade visited Adventureland for the first time.

Every year, our realtor has a customer appreciation day where he gives you up to 4 free tickets and $25 spending money towards food. It's really an awesome deal and I think we walked out of there spending like $5 of our own money. Thanks, Ralph!

Cade was at the tail end of a nasty cold, so he was a little bit under the weather, but still managed a few smiles.

We started out on the ferris wheel...

It had been about 15-20 years since Jim or I had been there, but some things hadn't changed. I loved riding the ladybugs when I was little and for a long time, it was the only thing I WOULD ride!

Cade is a very serious driver...

Of course Jim had to get a few rides in...

He's so proud of this picture...

Baby #2 Guesses

Jim has set it up so you can make your predictions on Baby Morse #2. The estimated due date is 11/22. What do you get if you win? Well, that's still to be determined, but I think Roberta is still waiting on her prize from having the best guess when Cade was born! ; )

Also, I am starting to panic a little because we cannot decide on a girl's name. Soooooo if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to share!

Cade has been showing a lot of interest in "Baby Mallory" at his daycare provider's house. He is always wanting to help out with her. Hopefully this is a good sign.

Thanks for all of the well wishes, we can hardly wait for the little one to arrive!

Quirks: Wearing snowboots, putting socks on his hands as "gloves"

Working on: Getting rid of the pacifier (only uses it for sleeping, except at daycare he doesn't use it at all...go figure!), potty training (says "Yay Cader, Woohoo!" if he goes)

Recent fun: Vala's Pumpkin Patch in Omaha, ISU Football game vs. Texas and camping/tailgating the night before, Staying with Grandma and Grandpa J's (seeing horses, riding the horsey, and going to Corbin's bday party), Riding the tractor at Grandpa and Grandma M's (and seeing Hershey)
Funny things he has done/said lately:
  • To Mom, "You're driving me crazy! Ugh!" (Hmmm, have I said this to him before? : ))
  • I told him we needed to run some errands (which he actually enjoys). So we get to our first stop, I think it was Michael's, and he is holding on to my hand as we start walking to the door. He starts to run and says, "Cmon Mom, we have to run!" I couldn't figure out why he was doing that and then realized, "Aw, we are "running" errands." : )
  • He is always wanting me to ride my bike and for 8 months now I have been telling him, "No Mommy can't ride her bike b/c she has a baby in her belly." One day he said, "when is that baby going to come out?" I'm thinking he's all excited about finally having the baby at our house and I said, "oh pretty soon." He then says, "Then you can ride your bike?" Yes Cade, then I can ride my bike.
  • He gets a little confused as to where the baby actually is sometimes, whether it's the belly or the "chest" area. So one day he goes up to my stepsister Cindy, takes one look at her chest and says, "you got a baby in there?"
  • My stepsister Cindy was eating hot tamales and Cade wanted to try one. She said, "I don't know if you will like these, they are really hot." He feels them, and says, "they're cooled off now, they're not hot anymore!" So he takes one, pops it in his mouth, chews it for a bit, makes a face and spits it out, gives it back to her and says, "they're still hot."
