2008 Olympics

This year's Olympics in Beijing were especially exciting for us to watch due to local gymnast, Shawn Johnson, and former local runner, Lolo Jones competing. We lost many hours of sleep staying up late several nights to watch due to the time zone difference.

For some of the events, it was Cade's first exposure to the sport. It was quite entertaining to watch because after he would see it on TV, he would try it himself. He watched swimming and the next time he was in his little pool, he was just a maniac, diving, belly flopping, and throwing himself all around. The next sport he got into was gymnastics. We're watching the floor routine and the next thing we know, he is running back and forth across the family room, doing somersaults and throwing himself on the ground, saying, "Watch this Mom, this is dangerous."

Funny sidenote: The day we were at Adventureland, which was I think the last day of the Olympics, Anne spotted Shawn Johnson's coach, Liang Chow! : )
