First Movie

I took Cade to his first movie on February 7th. Brecken was doing a trial run at daycare, so Cade and I headed to the theater to see "Alvin and the Chipmunks." Let's just say it was a good thing we were the only ones there! : ) It was a cute movie and he enjoyed the singing and dancing, but it didn't keep his attention as much as a completely animated movie might have. Once the popcorn was gone, he got bored and started exploring the theater. He kept saying, "turn the lights on!" It was a fun experience, but I think it may be awhile before he goes to his second movie!

12 Weeks

Twelve things about Brecken at 12 Weeks...

1. She loves having her diaper changed and...

2. is happiest in just a diaper (makes her coo and smile.)

3. She also loves bathtime (until it's time to get dressed again.)

4. She is eating 5 oz. every 3 hours.

5. She has her dad's hair. (See below.)

6. She hates tummy time.

7. She's taking Prilosec for her reflux, 1/2 tsp twice a day.

8. She likes to sit in her bouncy seat and watch tv.

9. She poops once a day (or not at all, which makes her really mad.)

10. She has gotten much better about being in her car seat, but is still not a huge fan...does pretty good once you get moving.

11. She's sleeping great at night (knock on wood), has a bottle at about 8:30 and sleeps until about 5:30.

12. She was born with and still has a crazy hair that grows out of the middle of one of her eyelids. (We pull it and it just grows back!)

P.S. She's actually 13 weeks today, but who's counting?!! : P

Happy Valentine's Day!

It's Valentine's Day

It's Valentine's Day,

and in the street

there's freezing rain,

and slush, and sleet,

the wind is fierce,

the skies are gray,

I don't think I'll

go out today.

But here inside,

the weather's warm,

there is no trace

of wind or storm,

my valentine.

Peaceful

Awww....so sweet when they are sleeping! : )

Speaking of sleep, are we ever going to get it again? : ) Actually Brecken is (or should I say was) sleeping about 7 hours between feedings (last bottle at 9 or 10, wakes at 4 or 5) at night swaddled in her papasan in her crib. The last couple nights we have tried just putting her in her crib swaddled and she has done so-so, wakes up a little more. We do have the mattress elevated a little for her, due to her reflux. Cade's been sleeping pretty good too (knock on wood), goes to bed between 8:30 and 9 and sleeps until 6 or 6:30, some days earlier and some days he just gets up and plays in his room or the hallway (there's a gate outside the door of his room). At daycare, he naps over 2.5 hours each day, but at home it's usually 2.

***As a sidenote, I know that most people reading this don't really care to know all of this info, but this is just our way to record the happenings in our lives, the big and the little everyday things! (And it's the little things that are easily forgotten!)***

I'm Just Weird

Cade's Quote of the Day: "Hey, Brecken, I'm not scary, I'm just weird!"

No idea where that came from, but it made me laugh out loud! It seems his vocabulary is expanding a bit and he is picking up on words that we aren't teaching him...like stupid. Do we say that word a lot? Guess we need to watch what we say a little more carefully!
