*Lovin' the green grass
*No more winter coats!
*Makes me happy that Cade loves to be outdoors
*Finding time to exercise (wog) outdoors
*Watching Brecken giggle at Cade and friends shooting baskets
*Wrigs is actually getting walked
*The neighborhood is coming out of hibernation and is FULL of kids that have much energy to burn after our long winter
*Six long months until it snows again!

5 Months

Brecken is five, FIVE, months old now...I swear time is going faster than it did with Cade. She is, for the most part, such a happy girl. She is starting to do this little squeal/scream thing which is pretty cute...for now. The girls at daycare love her giggle and of course Daddy is #1 at bringing that out. She is lil' Miss Grabby too, tries to grab everything in her reach, including things she is not supposed to, such as plates off the counter, the nail clippers out of your hand, the wipes on the changing table (arches her back and reaches over her head.) And when she sees her bottle, there is no doubt about it, she KNOWS what it is...the mouth comes open and she pulls it towards herself. She also opens her mouth if you bring her anywhere near your face...it's automatic every time. She is slowly getting the hang of cereal, still ends up with more of it in her neck crease and hair though. I think she may prefer chewing on the spoon to eating. She is rolling over from her back to her tummy regularly now, then gets mad because she's on her tummy, which is odd because she rolled from her tummy to her back first back in March, did it for a few days and then quit. She prefers to sleep on her side and when she's tired, you can give her the paci and almost instantly she rolls to her side and is out. Her naps are still short, about 25-30 minutes. Once in a while, she'll take a long one, but that's usually if she is anywhere but her crib...she seems to like sleeping on the floor. She is sleeping pretty well at night...we stopped swaddling her this past week and she still wakes up once in awhile if she loses her paci. It seems as though she has had a cold since she was born...hopefully the warmer weather will put an end to that...for all of us! We have been taking a family Kindermusik class and she seems to enjoy that. She also enjoys being outside, going for walks in her stroller, and watching her big brother ride his bike. Oh, and she's got a bit of cradle cap. The doctor said to use baby oil, which works somewhat, but then she looks like a little greaseball!

Love You

You are a blessing to our family Brecken Jolee!

I Want To Hold Your Hand

In March, we had a visit from our friends Wes and Amy that recently moved away (we miss you guys!) Wes was born a month before Brecken, but it won't be long and he'll be caught up with Cade! It seems like yesterday that Amy and I were pregnant together, wondering what these little ones would be...how quickly they grow and change!

Yummy in My Tummy

We were noticing that Brecken was really taking an interest in what we were doing during dinner time and she has been drinking 35 oz. of formula per day....so, after her 4-month check-up last week (weighing in @ 16 lbs!), we started her on rice cereal. The first attempt she was more interested in playing with her bib than eating. By now, she is sorta getting the hang of it, but a lot of it just ends up on her face and in her hair (which means more baths). Cade thought it was pretty neat that she was getting to eat real food and likes to help feed her. Brecken likes to try to help as well, grabbing the spoon from us as if to say, "Let me do this myself, you people are slow!"

Happy Easter

We've had some issues with our website/blog, so that has kept me from posting for a while...hopefully we are back on track. We still have to upload some old pictures, but our website is probably going to be down for quite a while if not permanently.
Easter kind of snuck (is that a word?) up on us this year being so early in March. We started off the weekend at the local Easter Egg Hunt, meeting cousins Lauren and Julia there. There were so many kids, but thankfully they had the park divided into three sections depending on age, so there was plenty of candy to go around. Like we needed anymore!

Lauren & Cade patiently waiting for, "Go!"

Found one! (The plastic eggs were hard to come by.)

Julia had found enough candy, so she helped the little ones out.

The Easter Bunny made a surprise call to Grandma Bonni's and Grandpa Clark's...Cade was soooo excited because we had seen the Easter Bunny earlier at the Easter Egg Hunt and Cade had waved at him but was upset because, "he didn't wave back."

We colored eggs with Grandma Bonni, Great Aunts Rocko & Vicki, and cousins Ali & Jami.

Had to capture the festive cupcakes...

We stopped for a visit at Grandma Berta's & Grandpa Darrell's before we headed home.
