Cade's Birthday Trip to Zoo

On Cade’s actual birthday, Jim took the day off and we went to the zoo in Omaha with Grandma Bonni. We started off with candles in Cade’s favorite, mini muffins, for breakfast and of course, presents. We got him a scooter, a small basketball, a carrier for his cars, and a personalized ABC book from Shutterfly. The weather for the day was nasty, chilly and rainy off and on, but we still managed to have a good day. The Gorilla House was probably our favorite since they are so interactive, banging on the glass and running all over. One of the gorillas pooped while Cade was watching so naturally that’s the main thing he remembers from our visit to the zoo. He liked the elephants too. We are hoping to get back there once more this summer with better weather. Cade was worn out and fell asleep as soon as we got in the car so he missed our lunch at Runza/Christy Crème.

This freaked me out a little...

After checking something on the computer tonight, I looked up to see this and almost screamed. Just standing at the kitchen "cooking" like it was no big deal. Shortly after this photo was taken, she pulled the whole thing over on top of her...oops...looks like we need to do some more babyproofing!

Minnesota Part I

I have way too much to catch up on, but here are a few shots from our recent vacation to northern Minnesota. Cade had a blast and got some quality outdoor time...fishing, swimming, playing on the beach, putt-putt golfing (his first time, loved it, and even scored a hole-in-one!), making friends, playing on the playground, and roasting marshmallows. There are several funny stories to tell, hope to post them soon!
