Jack-o-Lanterns

We didn't get around to carving pumpkins this year, but we (mostly Jim) did make some jack-o-lanterns for our window. I got the idea from this magazine/website: http://familyfun.go.com

Happy October 10th...

I knew it was supposed to "snow" today, but I didn't think we would wake up to this! The kids are beyond excited, wanting to eat and shovel the snow. I'm sure glad I bought these mums a week ago.

Peonies

I do not have a green thumb. I have the opposite of a green thumb...whatever that is. So I get pretty excited when something in our yard (that didn't already exist when we moved here)actually grows and blooms. These are our peony bushes that finally bloomed this year. I think we've had them since 2002 when I got them as a gift. I had written them off long ago and on my ever-growing list of things to do, flowers and plants always get pushed to the bottom. Maybe it was all the rain we got this summer, they actually got enough water! Ha!
